Alzheimer’s Disease
is NOT Inevitable!
There’s one Alzheimer’s myth that needs to be
exposed before we go any further.
Alzheimer’s disease is NOT an
inevitable part of human aging!
Don’t let anyone (including your doctor) hand you
this lie. Alzheimer’s should never be accepted as such. Your brain is
like a car. As my father used to say; “take care of your car and it will
take care of you.” A properly maintained car can last ten years or even
longer. The same rule applies to your brain.
I recently saw a recording of an interview conducted with Mrs. Jeanne
Calment (1875-1997) a French lady who lived to the ripe old age of 122
years and 164 days. She is widely regarded as the longest-lived
fully-documented human.
The interview was recorded several months before
her death in 1997 and in it she recalled events from her long life
including several meetings with the artist Vincent van Gogh (who she
very much disliked).
Here’s another example that demonstrates how long
a brain can last. A recent documentary film entitled “A Century of
Living” featured interviews with a host of seniors all over the age of
100. They recalled in vivid detail what it was like to live before TV,
cars, radio and in some cases even electricity. One lady wept as she
remembered her next door neighbor’s son who died way back in WWI.
Aging may turn your hair gray and make your
joints ache but you should never accept Alzheimer’s disease as an
inevitable consequence of normal aging.
